Vassar's app has to be filled out all at once, right?

Or are we allowed to send in various parts at different times?

I know that several colleges have Part I, Part IIs, and then you can send in teacher recs, mid-year reports, etc. separately. Is that the case for Vassar?

Thanks!

u can send in various part at various times, but your application isnt considered complete until all parts are in. So make sure everything is in by deadline.

Why are you asking a Vassar question on the NYU forum? :)

NYU does not have two different parts however you need to print out Counselor and Teacher rec forms.

If you apply online like I did, you don't have to worry about different parts of w/e. just submit the damn app and print the forms out then give them to your counselor and teacher.

and NYU does not want to see mid year reports. however it's highly probable that the Admissions might call your counselor and ask for your grades. they did this to me. yes, and i had horrible grades this q1. 3.633.

so don't be lazy and be consistent with your senior work. helpful?

hey guys i want to know my chances for ed
im waiting for the post anyday now

SAT1 : math 740 verbal 550 (1290)
SAT2 : math 2c 740, physics 730
TOEFL- 287

extra curricular- have done like 30 hours community servive
i play golf - handicap 13 have won various tournaments
vice captain of the U.A.E speedo swimming team, have been to egypt etc for galas

school prefect, house vice-captain
good school record... good recommendations.. good essays

wot u all think? do i have a shot?

you told me you already got in...

however if you did not I am more than happy to evaluate you.

Your SAT score is bit low but if you applied ED then this score might be OK but you never know since it was so competitive this year.

However your math scores stand out but they are expected since you are not an American...lol and most of foreign students do well on math sections. Your low verbal score might be compensated with your TOEFL score but I don't know how TOEFL score works out.

Your academic stats are low but I see that you've done some great activities and achieved some outstanding awards and etc.
I do not know if NYU has a swimming team but if it does, you should def contact the coach. I also see that you play golf very well. This is also a plus.

But I recommend you to do more 'business' related activities since you are applying to Stern. You really don't need to have those but since your stats are not that good and might be even slightly lower than the average Stern applicant's, I higly recommend you to do some extraordinary things.

Also because you are an international student, this might help you.

so, i say about 40% for ED and 29% for RD

but i really think that everyone has 50/50 chance.

Hahahahahah, oh boy. I really meant NYU, not Vassar. I asked the same question on the Vassar forum, and forgot to switch the names on here :-(

Maybe I should have gone to sleep a little earlier.

Thanks guys!

Another quick question - once the college gets anything from you (be it the application, or a teacher rec, or a college rec), they start a file in your name?

I'm asking because several of my teachers have sent out their recommendations to the college, but I haven't yet submitted my application because I'm not totally done with it yet. So, there's a high probability that they will get one of the recs before they get my application-- i was wondering if that's okay for NYU?

Thanks again. I really hate these tiny little detailed questions that I have that are probably of no significance, but I dwell on them anyway!

well it's fine i guess...because i did the same thing
my teachers sent out around mid oct..and i submitted on oct 26th

if i get rejected...well then maybe this is one of the reasons why
