<p>What exactly is a quiet dorm? Is it silence 24/7? Is it volume at a reasonable level? She figures she may have to call UR to get an answer.</p>
<p>She is very studious and not a party animal, but likes TV, movies, music, etc.</p>
<p>All dorms have quiet hours between midnight and 8AM on the weekdays, 24/7 courtesy quiet hours and 24/7 quiet hours during finals.
On the top floor of Hoeing is the quiet floor- basically you are not allowed to make noise (Not sure about the policy on TVs, etc.)
Even if you don't have a quiet dorm you can still make it through. The library is open til 3AM and the University Information Technology Center is open 24/5- so even if she needs a quiet place to study she can find one (The UIT Center is pretty quiet a night).</p>
