I already applied and send in my SAT scores, but if I take the SAT again in January can I send the scores in? Will they look at them? Is it even worth it?!

What are your scores now? I wouldn't retake if you don't think you can improve by a lot.

i dont know about reading and writing scores, but i know i can improve math...

Um, totally unnecessary...

I wouldn't. Those scores are already great, and you say you aren't sure how much you can improve them. So the ten-twenty points difference won't be huge, plus you stand the chance of doing worse, which is the last thing you want.

So save the test fee money and buy yourself something nice :)

well if i do retake the test, will northwestern look at the score? i don't think that it's "totally unnecessary" to retake the test, especially considering my scores don't stand out at quite a few of the schools i am applying to.

yes, they should; i believe that the january test is the last test pretty much every college will look at

i don't think it's totally unnecessary to retake; if you're confident that it can go up, then go for it; and who knows, your reading and writing may go up as well; one of my friends at school had a sub-2000 score for his first two times taking the SAT, and then he took it again just to see what would happen; his reading and writing jumped to 800, and his math went up a little to 680 (so he had a 2280 total); so maybe you can go up by 100 points or so.... however, if you are not sure if your score will go up, then it may not be in your best interest to retake it; only if your almost positive you'll receive a higher score should you retake the test

thanks, peyton. since NU looks at it, ill probably take it again.

Do people on this site have infinite amounts of money? Ay ya yi.

Go for it. You only apply once.
