about SAT 2

Hello everybody,
I want to ask, for example I am plannin' to take both the Math C1 and C2, but I want to study either law or journalistics. What do u think - will I be obliged to take any subject of the "humanities" - us history, world history etc. ???????/ or i just can go with the maths ????

I assume you mean Math Level Ic and IIc ?

It's better to take ONE of these, because IIc includes all topics of Ic (though it is assumed you know those, you will not be tested directly on those topics). IIc is more advanced, but usually international students' curriculums are well in tune, so you shouldn't have a problem. Taking both Ic and IIc serve no purpose.

As for humanities, I think you should check up with he college of your choice. Earlier, you could get away with a Writing test, rather than History etc. but now the Writing test is included in SAT I, so you should check to make sure which subjects are required before you can apply.

There's no point taking both Math Ic and IIc because colleges require only one math subject test. The Math IIc curving scale is easier, meaning that you can get up to about 5-6 wrong and still score an 800. About 10% of the people who take the Math IIc score an 800. It is harder, though. Don't take both. It is a waste of your money.

Most US colleges don't have strict requirements regarding the SAT Subject Tests. Since Writing has now been integrated into the SAT I, most colleges will ask for one other SAT Subject Test. So if you are looking to apply to an elite university, you would probably have to do something like Literature, World History, Foreign Language or Science in addition to the Math.

10x guys that was helpful :)
