Hey, guys~
I'm wondering how you guys tackle the summer question. Do you simply write "Last summer, I did blah blah blah. Besides, I also did blah blah blah..."? Or do you try to make it more interesting, or write about your thoughts about the activities as well? But considering the length of the answer (i think sb said it should be around 150 words?), the former approach seems more practical...
Any response will be appreciated~!

its not an essay. they just wanna know what you did.

Thanks for your reply~ So you mean the former approach is fine? And how long should it be please? Just not sure how detailed the activities should be.

Well I did a bit of both. I did not write essaylike imagery but I wrote some of my thoughts down. Kinda skipped the second summer (nothing special) and rather concentrated on my trip to Australia with a stop in Hongkong.

they only want ~150 words. you only have enough room to take the first approach

I just listed my activities, essay-style. The one thing I did in that one that was "special" was that I personalized it a little bit. So I guess I treated it as an essay. I think mine was ~200 words.

thanks a lot everyone~ any other responses?

They don't give a word limit on the Princeton Application. My essay was 300 words, but I was just listing the things I did. I was very active ;)

arbiter213, are you an applicant this year? just curious, and i'm a new comer, lol

did you all do the online application?

and helen, i believe he is.

pk12313 is a smart one, listen to him.

Online Princeton application. Makes it easier for the admissions people--they don't have to sort through a pile of papers, and I'm doing exactly what they want by using their application. Just me though.

i use online common app. my essay isn't entirely about "a person that has influenced me", though i did mention a person. so the common app essay choices suit my essay better, lol

ya i knew exactly who to write about, and it was very honest
