About the admission contract

This is taken from the admission contract at the Davis admission website.

We are excited that you are planning on attending UC Davis!
You must agree to the Conditions of Admission in order for us to confirm your intent to register.

Conditions of Admission

 1. Maintain a high level of performance and academic rigor in your 12th grade course work. All courses indicated on your admission application for 12th grade must be completed with grades of “C” or better. “Pass” is NOT acceptable. In the event that you receive a “D” or “F” grade in an “a-g” course (or courses), you must provide a written explanation, including your plans to repeat or make up the course. Repeating or otherwise making up a “D” or “F” grade earned in the senior year is not a guaranteed method of completing the admission conditions satisfactorily. No decisions concerning the effect of “D” or “F” grades or dropped classes will be made until we receive your final high school transcript showing date of graduation and evaluate your entire record.

Complete all courses on your admission application for the 12th grade, unless otherwise approved by our admissions office, with grades of “C” or better. Grades in your senior year must not show a marked decline from previous work.

Submit an official, final high school transcript showing date of graduation by July 15th to Undergraduate Admissions; University of California; One Shields Avenue; Davis, CA 95616-8507.

Official college transcripts must be received by July 15th. Submit any Advanced Placement scores or International Baccalaureate Higher Level Examination scores as soon they are available.

We will verify the academic information you reported on the admission application. Any inconsistencies between this data and official documents (high school transcripts and test scores) will result in cancellation of this admission offer.

Is this it? From what I understand, as long as you get C’s or better in senior year you are fine. This contract doesn’t mention any numbers for GPAs (like must keep a GPA of at least 3.0 or something) like mentioned in some other threads. Any comments appreciated, because the last thing I need is my admission revoked…

"Grades in your senior year must not show a marked decline from previous work."

Sounds like one or two C's is fine. However if you get straight C's...than maybe you should be worrying.

what if u get a D in an AP class?
they will still revoke your admission?

from what i've heard, they only revoke your admissions if you get a "D" in an a-g course. like how only three years of math is required, so if you're taking a fourth year this year and get a "D" they won't revoke you. but i know someone who got their admissions revoked for getting a "D" in ap english because four years of english are required. hope that helps.

oh..thanks lana_h408..
can someone tell me the a-g courses year of requirement...plz~

is math only required for 3 years?
sure?
cuz that's what i have a D in ..lol AP CAL...C-Dish..

yeah, math is only required 3 years. english is four, science is 2 and i think history is either 2 or 3. lol i know how you feel! i'm on the borderline in cal also! i'm trying to work my way up, haha. i'm sure you'll be fine!

hehe...good that they only require 3 years..LOL
yeah~~but i will still try my best ;)
are you attending UCD as well? :)

i'm still trying to decide! but i'm leaning towards UCD, it sucks that all the schools that I've visited are so nice. i was hoping that one would be really crappy to make my choice easier. :) is it UCD for sure for you?

LOL~
well i am not so sure either..
cuz i stil have to wait for some others..
but i think up to now..UCD is my choice..
btw, what nationality are u..

i'm 1/4 french, 3/4 vietnamese. and you? do you live near davis?

no..i live outside the US~
i am taiwanese pure..lol

I'm 1/2 Chinese and 1/2 Vietnamese.

Sorry, that was so rude to but in, AIM me. I plan to go to Davis this fall.

hey! is kd_specialkid your sn also? well just in case, my sn is toothu22.

nah, kd_specialkid isn't an AIM SN. I'm always on Vanillacrem3. Anyway, I didn't get to answer the revoke question. Regardless if its a failed grade in the A-G courses or not, I think they will still ask you why you did so poorly in the class. Most likely, an honest answer will clear things up and hopefully it doesn't affect your admission.

I may be getting a D for AP Calc, too. And I'm taking AP Stats, too!! I might get a poor grade there. Besides, I've already mentioned on my personal statement that math has never been my strong point but I do well in other classes to make it up. But hopefully, teachers are lenient this semester for us seniors. sighs.

my teacher said she would give me a "pass" in intermediate computers, they wouldnt revoke it over that would they?

I'm somewhat scared... I have a D in AP ENGLISH LIT and a D in PHYSICS. I only have some 3 weeks left and I'm trying my hardest to get at least a B on every assignment I do.

Right now I have 3 C's 2 A's and 1 B. 2 of these classes get me weighted grades.... meh... Should I be ok with this? My course load is very challenging ths year.

hey guys, i emailed uc davis about my possible "D" in cal bc and they told me that even though it's not a required course, it can still affect my admissions status. they told me that i will most likely have to take it over the summer and that i should sign up now just in case. they didn't say whether or not they would revoke my admission but said that they won't decide until they get my final transcript.

ichiboy, i think you should be ok, because all their admission contract say is that you must keep atleast a C. and your weighted gpa is a 3.0.

Do they look at weighted grades or unweighted grades?
