A lot of people keep saying that the College of Natural Resources has the lowest standards for admission out of all the college at Cal, is this true? Or just an old rumor? I’m curious because it just so happens that my desired major falls under this college, not because I want a back door. Also does CNR offer spring admit through waitlists? Or is there no chance of being waitlisted like L&S does?
I don’t know that you should even worry about how easy it is to get in under that major vs. a different one. If you know what you want to do right off the bat, apply for that college and see if you get in. D hemmed and hawed when applying, wound up L&S, and has been on a CNR track ever since. She’s applying for a transfer at the end of this semester. Because of its relatively small size in relation to L&S, for example, CNR has the reputation for better access to advising, etc. I could not find anything out about spring wait lists. You may need to try getting into L&S and then transfer into CNR once you’ve got all the prereqs done.
