So I am currently a senior and have taken my CC psychology course online. However, since I concentrated on my school and college stuff, I failed that class. My question is do colleges care about the grades of courses? If I take psychology again next semester, would colleges be considerate about that? Thanks in advance!
Yes, they do. Retaking may help.
It’s the same as failing any other course at school. Will your school put the failed grade on your transcript?
I would retake the course and try to do REALLY well.
If I got A, would colleges be considerate?
They will consider it. Will the grade count in your HS GPA? Is this a dual enrollment class? If so you need to talk to your GC about how your HS will handle it (grade replacement or keep both).
It won’t count as my HS GPA since I took this class just for HS credit. I lack of HS credit to be a Honor Graduate, so that’s why I took that class. I think the only way colleges would know my grade is if I send the CC transcript by online.
You are required to send your grades from HS and all colleges.
Have you taken any other courses from that community college? If you want credit for those, your failing course would have to be sent in as well.
@“Erin’s Dad” in not familiar with the whole required transcript thing. Are you legally required to or is it an ethically thing? Will there be repercussions if OP did not send it in?
what if I didn’t want any credit from that CC? can I just call then and cancel my failed course? My credit was not enough before I started that psychology course, but my Secondary Principal recalculated my credits, which resulted enough credits to be considered as Honor graduate. Therefore, I no longer need any credits outside form HS.
You can’t cancel a course that’s already final. There is a Student Clearinghouse that colleges use to track student info like where someone has attended. If you are accepted without divulging info from other schools any acceptance can be rescinded or if you are in school you can be thrown out. It’s always better to be honest and provide any required info.
I’ll just email each college to which I applied and ask about what should I do for this case. Thanks tho!
