<p>Now to my questions..
1. Which one is more important- the writing style (spelling, grammar, vocab, etc.) or the context and insight in it?
Sicne English isn't really my mother tongue, it takes me a while to write well phrased sentences with intellectual use of vocab. So.. i have to choose between a nicely written essay with little context, and an essay full of insightful ideas, but written in average (or even under average) english.
2. What kind of structure is expected? is it necessary to have an introduction& a conclusion, and more than one paragraph? (if yes, how is it possible in 25 mins? im getting nervous here..)
3. What's the average grade the test takers get?</p>
<p>The SAT essay is always a problem for non-native english speakers because, as you said, in 25 minutes there is not enough time for you to carefully create every sentence in your essay. I don't really understand how you can write a 'nicely written essay'.. with no context? What would it be about? You need to have decent ideas and a solid writing style. With a lot of practice, you can improve on both areas within the time limit. Devote 2-3 minutes at the beginning of the time to figure out what examples you will use and what your thesis will be. You should write a five paragraph essay with an introduction paragraph, conclusion paragraph, and three body paragraphs. If you cannot write 5 paragraphs, 4 (intro, conclusion, two body paragraphs) has also been successful in the past, although not as often. </p>
<p>Two graders each give you a score out of six, so I guess the average score would be a 3/6 or a combined 6/12.</p>
