<p>Regarding the essay, by reading some responses I gather it is a good idea to know in detail a couple works of literature, so that I'd be able to refer to those pieces in order to support my piece of writing.
Is knowing one book enough, or should I learn more than one book - and if so, how many? Would knowing other text types be any good (films, poems, etc)?
Can people specify some books (or films, poems) which would be suitable for learning, and useful in SAT essays?
