Hi,
so as I was checking my current account activity I found out that my aids/grants were different amounts from what it showed in the award acceptance letter. For example, I got only 250 for a ACAD comp grant that was originally assigned as 750 dollars. This also applies to other grants which I only got a franction of the originally confirmed amount. Is this normal? Do I get the rest of the aids quarterly? Does this happen to any of you? Thanksssss

your aid is divided and disbursed quarterly so you get an equal amount each quarter

Your $750 grant was for the entire year. So divide that by 3 (fall, winter, spring) and you get $250/quarter. You always get your grants and stuff quarter by quarter. I think it’s because certain grants and stuff have requirements to meet in order to get them. Like I lost my ACAD grant in the spring last year for having too many units…

On mine, the amounts on my current bill are significantly less than the ones on my disbursement page. And I’m taking into account the fact that it’s divided up quarterly. For example my UCSD grant should be around $1,800 per quarter and right now it says $932. Is this gonna change before September 17th?

hi guys…i also have a question about financial aid…i recently paid my total current balance of $2757.88…and now, i received 2 emails in my UCSD email account subjected “Direct Loan Funds Availability Notice” which one says I got $1824 from my Direct Subsidized Loan and and the other says I got $664 from my Direct Unsubsidized Loan…my question is: did the money from both of these two loans get used for paying my UCSD bills already or will i get my loan money disbursed back to me to my Direct Deposit later in time? sorry for being such a noob…haha

so the billing statement is for the ENTIRE quarter right?

OK, I found the info, but is there a way I can see exactly where my financial aid kicked in? Currently my balance is 510… Does anyone know where I can see a list of what this charge is for or my transaction history?

@ggeoo Are you paying quarterly or by a different format? If you’re paying by quarter and the math isn’t adding up, I suggest you call the financial aid office ASAP.

@anditsrew Your loans will more than likely end up as surplus funds to your bills and will be deposited in your bank account that you have signed up direct deposit for.

@gravityxzero35 Depends on how you chose to pay your university bills. But as far as tuition goes, yes.

@gracepresence Go to triton link (ucsd.edu/current-students) then click billing and payments. –> view or pay bills and then you’ll get a screen with 4 boxes. On the top left you can see a receipt of your current bill that shows where your financial aid kicked in and how much you were billed. (I’d give better directions but I can’t log into tritonlink atm).

yes i’m paying quarterly. i haven’t really even bothered calling the financial aid office because i hear people never get through. but thank you for answering me! i’m kind of just hoping everything’s gonna work out by itself.

My current bill does not include the Housing Deposit ($600) paid earlier. Should the bill have a credit amount for the deposit?

^ Yes it should (and it’s $650)

xpenguin, Does you current bill show the housing deposit credit amount? Thanks. I’ll be calling them later today.

Yes, mine does.
