Can anyone provide a reference for converting the raw marks into actual marks out of 800 in SAT official guides for each practice tests? The ranges for the marks are too large which render the estimation of performance essentially useless.
For instance, I've got raw marks of 50 in reading, 38 in writing (estimation of 8~10 points for essay) and 51 in Maths for test 4. But I consider it as quite difficult comparing to the ones preceding and following it. So which parts of the ranges should I take? It may possibly range from 1810~2210, which is too wide for a reasonable estimation.

Use the convertion table in the FIRST test.

Test 1 seems to be a lot easier than test 4, so I doubt the table would be sufficiently accurate. Thanks by the way. I just hope someone may point out the relative difficulty of the 10 tests so that I would know which range I should take.

^^ no the conversion table in the first test is for ONLY the first test .
My advice - and what I do - is take the middle score .
So if the range is 1800-2200 , consider 2000 as your score . Ofcourse this way is not accurate either , but I don’t know if there is a different more accurate way .

OK. Thank you.

I recommended the first because it gives you a reasonable estimate. You can use Table Test 2 for a worst case scenario situation.

I myself use table 2 for a worst case scenario situation.
Being PRUDENT is ALWAYS GOOD.

Plus taking the average is not a 100% accurate way.I think it is 70% accurate.

My way is 110% accurate.

WHY? Suppose your score is 2000 on table 2; you know that score is an UNDERESTIMATE; thus, when you go to the exam, you will be prepared for worst case not best case.

Example:
- I finished the SAT(real exam) then got out and predicted a 2000. The exam results are published, and I got 1900(Crying)
- I finished the SAT(real exam) then got out and predicted a 1900. The exam results are published, and I got a 2000(Happy)

Personally, I just take the lowest score in the range. Like if it says 700-800, I go with the 700 score. It gives me motivation to study to do better on the next.

^ That is even a better way.

^that doesn’t work for everyone. it’s better for some, but discourages others
