About the Personalized Application

Is there an application fee with this? I cannot tell and it does not say. All I can see is part one and there is no app fee there...anyone know?

As far as I know, it's free. I've gotten to part2 and there's no fee requirement.

Is Part 2 similar to the commonapp + Emory supplement? I am unable to see until Part I is submitted.

I called the admissions office and they stated that there was no difference in the priority given to applicants using the special online app. They claimed that the app was given to make it easier for the applicant since they completed my contact info. The contact info would take 2 minutes to complete and the common app with the Emory supplement would certainly be easier to click submit.

nah, it's the same thing. The personalized app takes just a few more clicks. Otherwise, it's identical. besides, regardless of what they tell you, I think it makes them feel a bit more special. and, after all, it's gratis. I think... btw, did you happen to ask them about the fee? oh, and do you know why they send it? could it be that I visited this summer?

I called the Admissions Office and was told that the same $50 fee for the commonapp applies to the "special application". Apparently the special app was e-mailed to anyone who has shown interest. Maybe they are bumping up the # of applications. The adcom also stated that there is zero benefit to which one you submit. "The commonapp is given the same consideration as any other format submitted".

Since I have already visited and demonstrated interest, I will apply via the commonapp. I have already completed several non -comonapps and am tired of doing it again.

I wil click on the commonapp follwed by the commonapp supplement. Can't wait to have completed all the apps!

Let the fun begin!!!!!!!!!!

D'oh! I thought it was a special gesture :(
oh well, it's probably the only place where I'm not submitting via the commonapp, so it won't hurt...
