Quick question, the application for UW schools ask how many hours you work in a week. Technically I work something like 16.5 per week, but the problem is I only work 5 hours or less per week during the summer and 26-29 during the school year.

On my college application should I list 27.5 as this is truly what I work during the school year?

My employer does not have any work for me during the summer - it's seasonal.

That sounds like the most accurate option.

I just don’t want to lie…but at the same time 16 hours a week sounds like nothing when in reality I work M-F 4-10, which is quite a burden.

You could just list your school year average and your summer average to give a fuller picture. If you cannot do that, I would suggest that you only put what you work during the school year.

Your school year schedule is what matters most, plus, that’s the majority of the time, anyway. So, since there is such a discrepancy between a couple months and the rest of the year, you could just choose the median number (note: not mean) and use that. But how much you work during school puts your activities/grades in that context.
