I submitted an additional recommendation letter. Plus the two from my teachers, there should be 3 in total. But the "recommendation letter" on Northwestern's online tracking system only shows "2". Does this item includes all letters they received? or just the letters from my teachers?

I have no idea, but can I ask when you sent your recs? I sent mine back in October and mine still says "0."

Oct? You did a quick job...

I sent all my materials in the final minute.

Mine says 1, but there is no way one of my teachers didn't send one. Another school received one on 1/8--about how long do you think it takes for them to process things?

I don't know. Those big universities often take a whole January to catalog the files.

I just want to learn from anyone who applied before to know the exact meaning of this item.

I don't know anything specifically about Northwestern, but the schools my son applied to only acknowledge receipt of required materials. The online tracking serves to let you know if the application is officially "complete". Your extra rec letter wouldn't have any bearing on the official status of your application.

We've heard back from all the schools as of yesterday. Several schools took 2 months to acknowledge receipt of his 2nd letter of recommendation, when other schools took only a few days.

Skie, thank you very much!

This makes me more comfortable. My recommendator told me he forgot to offer details of my information, like my date of birth, so I am just afraid that Northwestern didn't catalog my file correctly.

I wouldn't worry about it. From the NW status page:

If you are missing any items necessary to complete your application, we will notify you in mid-February.

I bet by then they'll have everything entered into the system.

Yea.., it seems like Northwestern processes more recent credentials then those received way back when in like october.

Yeah, I sent my transcript/recs/school report pretty early around October as well, and Northwestern says they didn't receive any of it (only the stuff I sent online). The same goes for Cornell. Hopefully they didn't get lost. X_X

Well, HelloooHellooo, let's hope odin64x is right.

I sent my activity chart about two weeks ago (like Jan 2nd). It was noted that they received it about two days later (Jan 4th). I sent my recs and everything else around nov, still doesn't show that they've received it.
Just a little evidence for my theory.

I should have 4 recommendations going to Northwestern, and so far it shows "0". This is including my guidance counselor recommendation that was sent with my transcript, even though it says that they have my transcript. So...odd.

So far, my hs transcript, ssr, and recs havent showed up. I know that my hs stuff was sent in 12/14, so maybe it just takes a long time?

Hmmm...mine says 0 too, and they were sent out in November...

My says 0 too, but it also says that my application is considered complete.
