I bought one yesterday
I don't know exactly how to find out the roots of an equation..
The guidebook is somewhat vague on this point....

For example,I want to calculate the roots of X^2+2x+1=0,,

According to the instruction, the listed steps are those I am sure...

Steps:Math>>>Solver..>>>Enter>>eqn:0=X^2+2x+1>>>enter..

And????What should I do next to find ont the exact roots of it???
Could anyone help me....Thanks~~~~~~~~

Graph the equation X^2+2x+1=0

Press [2nd] + [TRACE] button.

Since this is a parabola, and the root is a minimum point, select [3: minimum]

It will ask you for the left bound. Simply move the cursor with the <- button, and press enter once you're on the LEFT side of the minimum point. Do the same with the right bound, making sure you're on the RIGHT side of the minimum point. Press enter, and skip the Guess? stage. You will now get the root:

Upon 3 tries, I have gotten around X=-1, Y=0

Checking it: (x+1)^2, so the root is -1 with a multiplicity of two.

COULD i re 2ND +TRCE+ZERO?????
