About the Trojan Transfer Plan...

I’m a prospective college student who is most likely going to transfer to USC via the TTP (hopefully into Marshall) after one year of college education. USC hasn’t offered too much information about how TTP works, so I have a few questions I’d like to ask. If anyone has experience in USC and the TTP, please help me out!

  1. According to the Transfer Planning Worksheet, I can fulfill all of my GE requirements in 8 courses. Ideally, if I’m not going to USC for my first year of college, I plan to work hard enough to at least be on a level playing field with the other students. Can I fulfill all of my GEs in my first year and never have to deal with them at USC?

  2. Assuming I achieve a gpa of 3.7 or higher (I’ve noticed people claim this as the threshold), am I guaranteed admission to USC via the TTP? Are there any other factors that will affect my chances at admission (especially from high school, like the SAT or my high school GPA)?

  3. If I am admitted to USC through TTP, will it be reasonably easy to enter the major I want? I know it’s especially hard to transfer into competitive schools like Marshall and Viterbi, so I want to know if I can study my intended major once I transfer in.

  4. If I am admitted through TTP, will I be able to graduate in four years? I’d consider myself a reasonably hardworking student, but time is valuable, and so is my money! (However, I wouldn’t want to overexert myself trying to graduate in four years either…)

Please let me know your thoughts, especially if you have experience with the Trojan Transfer Plan. Thanks!

Anyone?

@fadingSky there is an excellent thread on the Trojan Transfer Plan started by @CADreamin, who is incredibly helpful on all things USC. My son was also offered the TTP so we’ve been trying to learn as much as possible. Also, did you get the email USC just sent out over the weekend? Best of luck!!
