okay so we see another one started. My questions is does it keep going or stop. since we are in CA only 30 minutes and never got an acceptance we are wondering. Her GPA is higher than alot of those accepted. her combined sat was 1980. It was a low math score though and real high english scores. So we are wondering. She has a possible scholarship and acceptance from Claremont Mckenna so we thought that USC would be also a good chance. Anyways does the wave keep coming?

probably one wave per week till april 1, just my guess though

It really has only just begun. The MAJORITY of acceptances will not come until the END of March- just hold on!

so does that mean another wave could come out this week?

and cc411 lol we know we need to calm down but remember you were once in our position so just try not to let our paranoia get to you :]

i've been looking through last year's threads (yes i know i should be doing more productive things with my time). apparently, USC released another wave on march 20 which would be the equivalent of our 19th (next monday). so there's no need to rush the mailbox every day after school - at least for this week. we can start doing that again next monday ^^

Here's what I think. If they are sending out something like 8000 plus acceptance letters the reason they are coming in waves, is that each one needs to be printed and proof read. That probably takes a bit of time, so I'm betting each Monday they send out another bundle all the way into April. 8000 letters over 5 weeks would be 1500 letters a week, or 300 letters a day and they want to make sure everything is done right. More waves must be coming on Monday. Hang in there!

I loooove the wild speculation going on in this thread :D

That's just so it can match the rest of the USC forum =P

do you guys think decisions have been made already for acceptances, and waves are just .. in waves for the big number of acceptances?

i think that the waves are much smaller than we think and that they target those admittees that USC is most interested in

i agree with pmcharkins.

^^^that's what i heard... something along the lines of the waves are done according to how much/little they have to think about admitting you..

ok that was entirely uneloquent, but basically if you are an amazing applicant and they want you, they won't wait until april to tell you that. not that they don't want you if they wait to let you know until april, or anything...

wow this is sounding all wrong. i do think the waves have to do with desirability, however.

Sorry Scarlet... you are right... I do remember the paranoia.
You have no idea how good it feels- I hope you get in. I would be absolutely sick if I hadn't heard yet :/

I second that

I don't think I've waited this patiently for so long my whole life :(

In our family's case, I don't believe this. My niece was accepted much earlier than my S but she was offered no merit $. My S was accepted in March & his friend was rejected later in April. I do believe they were very happy to accept him & gave him a lot of merit $$ to prove it. Wouldn't read too much into when your student receives his/her notification.

Don't say that HImom! haha it makes me feel good to think that USC really wants me (3rd wave)

hahaha ^^ congrats again, annn!! I'd love to be in your shoes right now....

anyone received anything today?

I got nada...

stressedOut-
lol- you call that patient?!
I really hope you get in. It would be fun to watch you go crazy if you get that package!

^^
:D

Oh it'd be fun to watch me get rejected too! hahahaha

you know I'll go crazy either way!
