My UC GPA is 4.18 weighted and 3.91 un-weighted. My SAT score is a 1930 and my ACT is a 30 (I didn't study for it at all, am planning to study and take it again in October). My extracurriculars are the main problem, as I have 3 years on the swim team and one year on the football team + most improved player one year of swim; a few hours volunteering at a local Alzheimer center + food bank; history day sophomore year; been playing guitar for 5 years and part of the school guitar and singing program all throughout high school; and no clubs. I am planning to apply for computer engineering, so I'll take the SAT Math Level 2 subject test soon, and I'm starting a fast-food job in a week, but besides that I'm not sure what else I can put on my application. I don't know if it matters, but I'm in-state and qualify for the ELC program. I'm also Middle-eastern (born in the USA though, and Middle-Eastern is considered white) if that matters.

About to apply to a handful of UCs,namely UCSB. Is there anything I can do to help me at this point?

Your college counselor or adviser should let you know how students from your school with similar stats have fared at UCSB’s Engineering School. You look competitive to me, but I also know that the Engineering colleges at UC campuses are more selective than the general Arts & Sciences schools.

I would try to continue with some type of volunteering if time is available. Your UC GPA looks good along with your ACT/SAT scores. Work on your UC essays this summer and continue doing well on your classes. Good Luck
