I visited the University of Delaware over the summer, and I became exceedingly nervous when they said they expect "B" or above, like to see more than two years of a language, and want to see five academic units per year. Also the fact that they look at one's GPA in their academic courses only.

Here is my dilemma:

I received two C's (rest were B's) my freshman year in Algebra 1 and English because I was stupid and immature then. Sophomore year I received B's and one A and it was toward the end that I really started to mentally mature. I then received all A's in my Junior year. This year I am in one AP and two honors (my only ones ever taken) and am currently getting all A's.

My second problem is that in my junior year I only had four academics and due to my school's stupid graduation requirements I had to take a business class in place of a language.

The C's, the missing academic and my lower rigor of the majority of classes really messed up my GPA. However, I wasn't in low classes the rest were simply college-prepatory/A level. The mid 50% of the most recently entered class is 3.37-3.92. My GPA (academics only) for my Freshman to Junior year is 3.27. I know that they see your senior year grades and if I continue to get A's my academic GPA should be a 3.45 (3.6 weighted). However, according to my guidance counselor, they only see those grades after your seventh semester (around January 1st), which is after I would have applied. By the way, my total GPA for Freshman to Junior years is 3.42 if that means anything. Though the website heavily hinted that it did not.

Does this lower/destroy my chances? I ask because even though there are other factors for admission, UDel says that grades and course selection are the most important factors they look at. I'm good in every other category they look at, it's just my grades =(

The University of Delaware is my number one choice and I loved everything about it. I am even taking a Pre-Calculus course at my local communtiy college this Spring to prove my commitment to it when they said they want math atleast through pre-calculus to be a Biology major.

Oh and this is my first post, sorry if it's wordy and confusing. I just joined today because I couldn't take it anymore.
