About to take my first ap class (euro history) what are some tips?

next semester starts in the 2nd week of January. im taking my first ap class (ap euro history). what are some tips for doing well in ap classes? i heard they are really hard

Don’t fall behind on reading for history classes. Sometimes the textbook is way too detailed, but at least skim it. Don’t just not read, whether it’s the textbook or review guide, and expect to do well.

I second that. If your teacher gives you an assigned or suggested reading schedule, stick to it! If they don’t, make one yourself. Whatever you do, try not to fall behind. If you skip one day, doing 2 reads the next is just going to sound unappealing so you’re more likely to blow that off, and it just compounds from there. AP Euro was my first AP class (only one offered to sophomores), and I didn’t find it too difficult, but I did every single read.
When I gets closer to test time, I recommend a prep book (like Princeton Review- they’re excellent). They won’t make up for not studying long-term, but they’re still a good way to review key concepts and normally have practice tests. Good luck!

i was thinking of getting one of those princeton review books for cracking ap euro. thanks for the tips

Instead of rushing and reading, focus on understanding the material as well. If one of the sections is giving you a hard time, the Internet has a bunch of great resources.

why is ap euro a semester course?

Read and memorize the stuff in your textbook like it’s your job. Well, I guess it kind of is. But really, being behind on the reading really sucks.

Make sure you do practice DBQs, and especially work on handwriting them in under an hour.
