About TOEFL Score When Transferring to Purdue

Hello, I’m planning to apply as a transfer student at Purdue in Computer Science for the fall semester 2020.

Although Purdue offers transfer applicants the minimum overall score required of 88 with each section over 20, the applicants might have to submit a score at least over 100 to increase their acceptance probability.

Does it sound like a viable plan to apply for transfer to Purdue with a Toefl score around 90?

For your better understanding, I’ll give you my information.

  • I’ve got a GPA of 3.9/4.0 with 36 units.
  • I currently attend the Univ. at Albany in CS major.
  • an international student who has the F-1 student visa.

CS is the most popular major at Purdue and is going to be a difficult program to transfer into. Get your transfer application in before Nov 1 to have any chance at all.
And yes, for competitive majors, a TOEFL score of 100+ is better.
