about tuition

<p>as an international student, if i get a us-citizen (relative) to be my tutor, meaning being in charge of me and paying for my expenses, would i quailfy for in-state tuition? would i have to live in the us under this condition for a defined time to qualify for this? or is it simply impossible to qualify for in-state tuition being an international student? ty in advance</p>

<p>Well...it is almost impossible for students within the US to gain in state tuition for states in which they do not reside. </p>

<p>I would say that unless you have been living with the relatives in the US AND they are your guardians AND your parents have given up their parental rights, you have very little chance of gaining instate tuition costs in the U.S. Simply put, your place of residency is where your parents reside. You can't just "decide" to have some other relative be your primary guardian. If it were that simple, many many international students would be doing the same...and it's not that simple and they can't and don't.</p>
