I'm an oos applicant, so I'm generally a bit nervous. Does anyone know how competitive the oos pool is?

very competitive. And very expensive

Um, so, does top 10%, 2250 SAT, 4.25 UC gpa sound competitive for UCLA>

You should be in.

Yeah, but we gotta consider I’m oos. I have average ecs too: about 3-4 clubs done for 2 years (11th and 12th), varsity engineering for 2 years (11,12), 40+ hours of shadowing people in their jobs, and 100-200 community service hours. The job shadowing is basically me seeing what people in various business fields do so it gives me a great view of the industry. I just haven’t been doing my ecs for very long though. Oh and the only significant award I have is national merit commended.

I am so glad I transferred in. =P

I’m OOS as well and I think you’ll be fine Good luck!

Thanks MadeInChina, but does anyone have a general idea of the grade of applicants that get into UCLA oos?

Wait. Are you a OOS transfer student? California CCs have serious dibs. Its difficult to transfer for everyone else. I’d be confident but not too confident.

No, I’m a junior in high school set to apply soon. Good luck to you too MadeInChina! =)

@csokane: I’m actually a 4th year at UCLA right now (graduating this quarter). I was accepted 2006 and had similar stats to you. You can find a bunch of threads in this forum about the stats of accepted OOS students. Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot lol. It does help, but looking at some of these oos kids, I’m a bit scared.

bump !
