? About UNC's Grad Degree in Sports MGMT

Hi,

This is for any UNC folks who know anything about UNC's masters in Sports administration/management degree. I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate any information anyone might have. I have already researched the degree as much as possible from the program's web site.

Is it a limited enrollment program?

Are the internship/field experiences good, great or so-so?

Do you know anyone who was in the program and if so how did they like it?

Is UNC as hard to get into for grad school as it is for undergrad for OOS students?

My son's plan is to attend Valencia CC's Honors program for his 1st two years out of high school. That is fine for his first 2-years. Then he transfers to FSU to get a BS in Sports Mmgt and a business degree in acctg or finance or Bus Admin.

Then it is grad school somewhere. That is where the fun comes in. It could be anywhere as long as he gets GREAT internships in D1A or D1AA sports administration.

We live in Orlando, FL.

UNC would be a great fit for him for grad school. I am excited about UNC's masters in Sports Admin. U-Miami has a good program and so does U-Texas.

Well, if anyone has any info on what UNC is doing for kids who wants to work in sports admin, please share. Thanks in advance.

I checked the program web site and saw something I missed earlier. The program admits 16 students per year and is “highly competitive.” Well, I suppose that answers question #1.

Actually, that makes my esteem for this program even higher. I do not like colleges that operate under the Let Everyone in and I am sure You Will Be Fine Later with some Diploma Mill Degree plan. I like limited enrollment programs. They are tough to get into but worth it if you can get in.

Right now, UNC is the place I dream about S#1 going to grad school.

We will see.
