Above average but not spectacular? How to approach?

Took Physics, Math II, and US History subject tests. Got 740, 730, and 730, respectively. I know that on CC everyone expects 800s and are SHOCKED when they didn't get the score they "deserved". I'm not shocked however, just slightly surprised at Math (expecting higher) but altogether relieved that I didn't accidentally bomb any of them.

Here's my question though: I'm applying EA to several schools in the fall (and several more regular admission), is it worth it to re-take any of these on October 1, or would it be a better decision to take the SAT I and (with enough practice) get a solid score on that? I'm applying to UofM (instate), MIT, Berkeley, Emory, NYU, and Cornell.

I know these scores are not the top 10% for any of these schools, but if they accompany a solid app with a top ACT and expectedly good SAT am I still a strong applicant?

I would think that you probably should try the Math Level II once more. The curve is quite generous for that so it is a bit surprising that you got only a 730. However, the other two scores are fantastic! Focus on the SAT I then.

Yeah Math II was the third one of that morning, so my brain was pretty worn out at that point. That might’ve played somewhat of a role. But is taking ONE subject test over again more worthwhile than taking the SAT I? According to a study by the Collegeboard & ACT, my ACT score indicates a likely score between 2220 and 2290 on the SAT I, so would that or a 790 MATH II and no SAT I be better for my app?
