I expect to have solid recs as does everyone else, but I am a very good essay writer.

Financial aid is not an issue.

How am I looking?

You probably don’t have much of a shot at BC/NYU, sorry… but the other schools seem like good matches. Your chances would really improve if you could raise your SAT.

That math score is a bit touchy…not poor, but not stellar. Retake the SAT if you can. Strategy on the exam is important so get some tips on that.

Overall you appear fine for Fordham with a very good CR and Writing score and at Fordham with such strong core requirements you will be writing a lot of papers. Here is my suggestion. Apply to Rose Hill as undeclared major. You can always switch into CBA at a later time. They will place you in a math class first semester freshman year anyway based on your SAT score and transcript. You should be fine. Some kids major in a liberal arts subject and minor in a business area like economics, or finance or marketing. So you dont have to be in CBA to take business classes anyway. And you dont declare a formal major until sophomore year. That way you get the benefit of the doubt on your strengths and aren’t penalized for your weaker areas.

You have solid EC’s and overall appear to be a good selection. Do your best and DONT slack off this year. NO SENIOR SLACK. That can kill an application very quickly.

Best of luck to you.

n.b. I hate chance me threads as I dont have a clue how admissions committees function inside and what they are looking for. So my opinion is just what I would do, but its totally a guess.

On any given day, anyone can get in by chance or luck, and someone can be deferred or rejected with bad luck. Its a quirky system.

I would go ahead and submit applications to BC and NYU and see what happens. You never know. BC is extremely selective and without a hook, its a tough road to sled. But worth a shot. The most important thing is to pick schools where you are a good fit overall and will be happy and succeed, not be overly stressed, unhappy or a fish out of water, pardon the pun. All schools want to admit kids who will excel.

Thanks to both of you. I just retook the SAT today and I am confident I raised Math to at least a 600, but we’ll see.

Anyone else?

Bump, more opinions welcome

BC/NYU Are definitely your reach schools- the other ones, u have a strong chance in- ur sat score is killing you, get at least 2000+ to secure ur chances. GOOD LUCK =D
