Above average SAT and very low GPA: what are my chances for these schools?

-Male from Arkansas
Class rank: Top 20% (public high school; 600 kids)
Unweighted GPA: 3.20
Weighted GPA: 3.30
3 AP's taken (scored a 4 on the AP Stat exam); taken honors math courses since the 8th grade
SAT: 2050 (1360/1600)
EC's: I was in a few clubs (held no positions though, lol), played high school baseball, spent a lot of time taking care of my special needs little brother, babysitting, a little volunteer work, no work experience (I couldn't get a job because of my little brother).
Essay: I will put a lot of time into my essay, I've read books giving tips on how to avoid 'dry' and 'overused' topics, and I am sure my essay will be at least in the top 5% of, I guess, the nation.

It might also be worth noting that I have an upward trend in my grades. My freshman year I had about a 3.30. And then my sophomore year was a joke with less than a 2.80. My junior year was better, at around a 3.30. And my senior year will be better than a 3.70.

I already have 4-5 schools I know I will apply to, but which of the following would be worth applying to (i.e. my chances are greater than 25%)?

Depauw University
Grinnell College
Lehigh University
Sewanee (University of the South)
St. Lawrence University
St. Olaf College
Tulane University

Thanks.

bump............

grinnell is a reach
st olaf is a match
not sure about others.

thanks for the post...bump for more

Depauw University - Reach
Grinnell College - Reach
Lehigh University - High Reach/Near Impossible
Sewanee (University of the South) - Match
St. Lawrence University - Match
St. Olaf College - Reach
Tulane University - Reach

Lehigh is a higher reach than Grinnell? That is interesting...

I'm actually pleased with that, lol, because Grinnell is my number one choice overall. I realize both of you said it's a reach, but still.

And, pierre, you said four of those schools would be reaches. What is your definition of 'reach'? Over or under 15% chance?

dkfjdkfjdfdfdf

I'm just throwing another college out there...

What are my chances at Va Tech? I read that their admission process is based almost entirely on numbers: GPA, strength of schedule, scores, etc.

So what would be chances at Va Tech?

Very slim due to my GPA?

bump

fdfdfdfddf

I would not say Lehigh is near-impossible, probably more of a regular reach, and same with V-Tech. Unfortunately, I do not know much about the other schools.
