Absences?

my high school puts number of days a student attended school and therefore shows number of days a student was absent.

Now I'm not saying I have a lot of absences.
I have almost perfect attendance record except maybe one or two over each year.

but in my senior year, with lots of APs and lots of staying up late and all that
I've been sick many times and have been absent (excused of course) for like 5 days (spread out, not clustered) so far.

Do adcoms care about attendance?

thanks

5 days out of like how many?!?!?!?! is not gunna be a big deal.

5 days is NOT a big deal. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

so how many would be a big deal...

i mean i'm not a pansy or nething lol
but i do get sick frequently..... :(

dude, 5 days is 0. If you were participating in olympiads, you'd be absent about 10+ weeks per semester. (10+ weeks of un-excused absences)

5 days is one for the sore tummy, two for the flu, 1 for strep throat, and 1 for maybe you just didnt feel like going to school...

kids get sick...colleges dont give a crap, they know people get sick...heck, by the time they read your file, itll be smack in the middle of flu season, and half of them will probably be sick

Dude, what are you worried about?

If you were out for half of the semester, that'd be a big deal. 5 days is nothing. Gosh.

Will the college care? No. However, be sure you know your school's policy. At mine, after 10 excused or unexcused abscences, you have to go to a credit hearing. If they feel like it, they can basically rescind the grades you got for the previous semester. This will only happen in extreme cases, but last year I has to go through the appeals process and it was incredibly annoying.

i have like 10 absenses from sickness and corusework catchup. My school has about 150 days per year. How big of a problem is this?
