Absent on test day

So I was unable to make it for my Dec 1 Subject Tests and recently realized that it is possible to change my test date (and location) for a 26 dollar fee.

Now the thing is, I am unsure if I want to take a gap year. If I do, and decide to shift to the June date, I will be saving 86 dollars. However if I don't take a gap year, I'd be wasting 26 dollars.

The ideal situation is for me to wait till April when the decisions roll in. I'm not sure, however, if the option to change the date and location remains till 5 months after the test date has passed.

So this is my question - does the option to change the date and location of my Dec 2012 subject tests remain till April 2013?

You’re paying thousands of dollars for a college education. I don’t understand how people think like this. Spend whatever amount of money that you need to on the tests and materials. Your future is worth $86.

Which is why I am trying to save as much as I can. By trying to keep costs to a minimum, I honestly fail to see how I am being unreasonable. Besides, if you have actually gone through my post, you will notice that I am not risking deadlines or anything of the sort.

I missed an October 2012 SAT test and when I went to register for a later test date, everything just rolled over for the new one. Five months is a pretty long interval (mine was about 3.5 months), but as long as you will be taking the same Subject Tests at the same location where you first registered, you should be fine.

Ah, screw it. I am going to wait till April.
