Just curious (and to bring up a topic (or a debate))... how do you feel about an applicant that is 1/4 URM (in this case, native american), not connected to the culture at all, hasn't faced any discrimination or hardships that other applicants of the same culture face, yet still marks down n.a. as primary race and attends lectures/ sessions at top universities alongside applicants who are of the culture and completey immersed in all aspects of it--unlike this applicant (stats/ ec's were average compared to other applicants and even rejectees from harvard/ yale/ etc.)?

they suck... but when it comes down to it we'd all have done the same

they suck... but when it comes down to it we'd all have done the same... so why whine about it... the human condition is irrational and inevitable... by the way i just waitlisted at my top FIVE choices... so ignore my ranting

It's not fair, but you can't blame this person for taking every advantage they can get.

This is why we need socio-economic and NOT race-based affirmative action. That way the playing field can be leveled where it REALLY needs the leveling.

I agree with HeavenWood entirely.
