PLEASE HELP! I am currently a HS Senior starting my college applications and I am beginning to get worried about actually getting into schools academically. Straight A student Freshman and Sophomore year.. But completely screwed up Junior year because of involvement and AP Classes. Can anyone provide any info on your personal academic acceptances and where. THANK YOU!

Most MT programs are a little more lenient with grades if the talent is there. MT Schools that will be difficult to get in without stellar grades include:
Northwestern, NYU, Michigan, Elon,
I’m sure others can add to this list.
But there are lots of great schools whose academic requirements are not too bad. Not knowing your statistics, some that may work for you academically are Otterbein, Coastal Carolina, and Texas State.

Programs within state schools like CCM, or TSU have a fair bit of wiggle. BUT- they are super selective talent reach schools…

Thank you! I only have a 3.8 weighted so I am not too great. Buy I am top 10% of my class and planning to take the SAT again, and the ACT. So hopefully those will help

My son had a 3.8 and just a slightly above average SAT score. He didn’t have any issues with academic acceptances. He even made it past Michigan’s presceen, somebody correct me if I am wrong, I think you have to pass their academic requirements to get to the live audition.

You will be fine. Read this thread:

@MTMajorCook yeah, most programs you have to at least submit an application. But even for some now you have to get accepted into the school academically before you can even set an audition date. Thank you so much!
