Does anyone know off the top of their head whether The University of the Arts gives one acceptance only, or if they have a separate academic acceptance? My daughter is auditioning there on Saturday and I just want to make sure she doesn't need to be academically admitted first before she can audition.

I have the same question for Point Park, where my daughter is auditioning next week.

I would think if they scheduled an audition for you than you don’t need to be academically accepted first. Our Point Park academic decision came quite some time ago and the audition is scheduled for 12/14.

Thanks Raam1012. I wonder if all the paperwork made it in, like the letters of recommendation. I have to check my lists because the Common App often had different information than the actual school requirements on letters of recommendation. Not to mention some wanted two acaddmic LORs, some wanted two artistic LORs, etc., etc.

In case it is helpful, the app was submitted in early August, a letter was received days letter stating what was missing from the app, all other materials (transcript, ltrs of rec, etc.) were submitted early Sep and an academic acceptance came in mid-October.

U Arts gives one acceptance. We were there on 11/23. Currently waiting on D’s results.
If you go over to the theatre/drama thread I posted a lengthy description of our day there that maybe helpful to you. It’s under the 2013 2014 audition day review topic.

My daughter is also waiting on final word from UArts Nov 23rd audition. So nice to find out early either way on both admissions to the school and the program. I think they said Dec auditions would know by Jan but I could be wrong. Point Park acceptance came quite some time ago but the audition isn’t until next weekend. They have an online student portal where you can check admissions paperwork etc. Good luck!
