If I have earned awards in clubs such as Speech and debate/business club do those awards get entered in the activity section or in the "honors" section under academics?

I think its in the activities section but I'm not sure. Also if I held officer positions in those activities, do I put those along with the awards earned in that activity under "activities"?

Or is it a better idea to leave this stuff in a resume? Do most people attach a resume to their common application?

Sorry for all the questions--i appreciate all the help!

I heard that attaching a resume is not a good idea. Personally, I think unless your resume really reinforces one of your qualities, adding it would just make you appear more scattered.

I put both positions and honors in the given lines. Even though I had some honors that would go perfectly in the academic award section, I didn’t think repetition was necessary. Besides, this way I free up more space to add other academic awards.

So if it’s an award that’s related to one of your EC’s, put it next to your EC. For example, my debate awards and science fair ones went with my EC’s even though they might be more “eye catching” in the other section.

sylviecerise or anyone else for that matter,

what extra curricular category did you put research in (I’m assuming u’ve done science research because you received science fair awards)

for example, did you put it under science/math category?
