I'm coming from California, so booking plane tickets is kind of annoying...

So I have questions about what goes on on the last days before breaks...For example, fall recess begins on Halloween this year...would I be missing any cool Halloween parties if I left that night to go home?

Also what really happens during the start of Reading Period? If I were to come back from winter recess by red-eye flight on the morning of the beginning of reading period, would my lack of sleep make me miss anything important?

I feel kind of confused about Princeton's calendar, so thanks for any help!

Princeton Halloween is the thursday before fall break-- most people leave sometime on friday or on saturday morning. As to reading period- it will probably be fine to come back on the red-eye at the beginning of reading period. Reading period is generally a very unstructured time with very few commitments (other than getting all of your work done by dean’s date). Some intro language classes have classes through reading period, but I’m not sure if they start right away or how required they are.

hi. not sure where else to post this but im also from California, and the thanksgiving break seems a little short. do most people living in the west coast still leave around then? thanks
