Academic Changes UCLA

Anyone reported changes to your current spring schedule after being admitted, if so, have you heard of UCLA, what's your status? also anyone know anything about their policy in rescinding admission offers. I have stated before that I will have two w's because I dropped two classes that affected me for another school but will not affect my UCLA admission except for the w's. Anyone know if UCLA frowns or go as far as to take back their offer because of insignificant w's? PLease if youv'e heard word from them post here

I reported changes to UCLA on the 29th of May, and I heard from them about a week ago. Someone from the admissions department emailed me and told me that my admission status was not changed. My academic changes included receiving a W in a 5 unit math course, and adding two ITV courses. None were required/not required for my major or IGETC.

You mean the 29th of March right? So you heard from them around May 7th or so?

I reported a change to them 3 1/2 weeks before I got an admission decision, and again (same change, just wanted to be sure they'd received it) about a week before they gave me a decision. I still haven't gotten any indication from them that they've reviewed this change.

Do you guys think I need to notify them a THIRD time, or should I just let it ride? I feel like I've done my part -- twice. I kind of feel it is up to them to update my file and notify me if there is a problem at this point.

What do you guys think?

I defeinately wouldn't risk it. I'd want my admission to be 100% proof. I would report the changes and make them aware of it just as insurance .

I just sent them yet another email, this time begging for a response as to whether they'd already taken this into account.

Hopefully they will take pity on me and respond.

theyr'e not good at assuring us

I meant 29th of APRIL - a couple of days after I got admitted. I recieved an email on 05/11 from someone in admissions who reviewed my case.

I feel that I have to add that while I was waiting to hear back from them after I got admitted, when I logged on to the admittion decisions site
I was told that they were reviewing my file. Once I got the email from the admissions department, I checked the site again and it was back to the "Congratulations! You have been admitted...etc".

Oh man, I'm freaking out. I just sent in my changes, and I really hope they finish them before June 1st. I mean, could they revoke admission after the SIR deadline? Seems like a really messed up thing to do, especially since they sent so many admission decisions ridiculously late.

I think they will extend the deadline but yeah that would seem pretty messed up. I talked to an admissions rep from ucla who was in my college's transfer center and she told me my file (because of the changes, however small) would be moved to the botttom of the pile and that I would have to be re-evaluated all over again, the fact that charlie got an answer that fast dismisses the truth to that or do you guys think that he got a quick decision becuase his case was less severe than mine? Does anyone know if there is a process or if its completely random? (referring to their review of admits with academic changes to their spring schedule).

Charlie what were your stats? Maybe it goes by major? I'm political science, 3.4gpa.

Comm Studies, 4.0, but I think they reviewed my case faster because I got the Regents.

mexbruin, ucla might extend THEIR deadline, but I doubt the other UCs would to accomodate this situation. I doubt UCSD (my second choice) would accept the excuse "UCLA revoked me after the SIR deadline; please accept my SIR late." :(

Re-evaluated? That sounds severe! I changed one course and dropped another this semester, and reported the changes directly to my admissions officer at Cal who emailed me back in 2 days and said I am in "good standing" and the changes won't affect anything. She didn't even mention if my files needed to be updated or not.
Did UCLA assign you guys an admissions officer?

UCLA got back to me today to tell me that my email (regarding my schedule change) had been attached to my application and was reviewed before they'd made my admission decision. Thank goodness! This process has made me so nervous and paranoid.

Has anyone talked to the friendly folks in admissions about what to do if they go beyond the SIR date? Would it be possible for you guys to submit a SIR to your 2nd choice pending their decision?

Good luck to those of you who are waiting again! I'm sure it will turn out okay -- I'm assuming it would have to be something major for them to reverse their decision to admit you. Maybe give them a call?

Do you think I should send them an email instead? Would calling them be a bit too much? I'm surprised I haven't heard from them. They sent me an email when I updated my changes within hours saying they would reach a decision within 15 days and its now part 15 days and still no word I have been on edge these days and need to know to plan my next course of action whether it be petition or apply to other schools. Would you guys waste more money to apply to other schools with a June 1st deadline or just wait it out. I know I am being pessimistic but I always have bad luck in situations like this one.

I updated my changes April 27th the day they released their decision with my file and no word. Charlie, I think that the regents scholar might have had something to do with their quick response... lucky man

Sabrina, paranoid and nervous are is exactly what I am right about now. I have now fallback plans as of yet and can't see myself at any other school other than UCLA. I was admitted to CAL and UCSD but I have already sent my SIR to UCLA and I think I would be in the same situation at those schools as well. AAAArrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!! the fear.

Oh the pain...
