Academic Competitive Grant

My daughter received ACG her freshman year. She is transfering to a different school for her sophomore year. The ACG was not on her financial aid award letter. Is she still eligible? She has a 3.7 gpa for this year. Thanks in advance!

Is she still Pell eligible? That is a requirement for ACG. Also I recall that a sophomore may not be eligible for the second year of ACG if they have enough credits to be classified as a junior (due to AP’s, etc). Maybe one of the FA experts will spot this thread and respond or you could call the financial aid at the school for clarification.

Yes, she has received a Pell grant. Entering into sophomore year with 32 credits.

Because ACG has both a gpa and class standing requirement, it’s likely they’ll add the ACG once her transfer credits and GPA have been verified. Even returning students have to wait for ACG to be added to their package after final grades are posted.

Thanks so much sk8rmom
