2 years ago in December I was academically dismissed from my university. I had 94 credits and was so close to graduating. I blew it big time, I know. After many appeals and denials to get back in to my old university I decided to move on. I just applied to Texas A&M University-San Antonio. I meet all the requirements but one, "Must be eligible to return to all previously attended colleges or universities." Is this going to keep me from getting in? I've seen this on a ton of college admission pages. Am I ever going to get back in to college? HELP!

Didn’t your old school tell you exactly what you’d have to do to return/re-enroll after dismissal. Like, attend a community college for two semesters and earn A and B grades — something like that? Or, did they say you’re gone and can never come back?

They never told me anything I can do to return. In my many discussions with the student Records and Registration office the vibe I got was i’m gone and can never come back.

bump

Ask them to lie and say “im not coming back but I just want to be able to fufill a requirement from another university” if they say no…you’re ******

Talk to your academic advisor at your old school. Ask about the policy on returning after dismissal. I’m pretty sure all colleges have one.

What did you do? This is more important to know, OP.

You need to be honest with any future schools. Whatever you did wrong show that you have made an honest effort to fix it. If you show honesty and the courage to show that you learned from these mistakes, then some schools might be receptive.

You said academic dismissal. So, likely a low GPA, too many repeated course attempts, and/or low completion rate.

Low completion rate for 2 semesters consecutively. My cumulative GPA is still above a 2.0.

I got accepted! thanks for all your help!
