Academic Environment at Yale

Hi. I was just wondering how competitive studies are at Yale. I realize that it fosters some of the world's best and brightest students, but is it all that difficult to receive good grades?

The reason why I'm asking is because I have to consider my college GPA, especially if I plan on attending graduate school, namely law school. If I were to pursue a major in economics, would it generally be difficult to maintain a 3.7+ GPA?

I realize that "difficultly" is a sheerly subjective concept, but I would just like to hear what Yale students have to say. If you know of anyone majoring in economics at Yale, do they find it hard to excel? Do they spend all of their time studying? Do they enjoy their time in college?

It's not the pressure cooker as in some colleges. Almost all of your classmates are extremely self-driven and will challenge themselves (more than be interested in competing with you).

The econ dept per se isn't trying to dish our Bs or Cs just for fun. You can get As.

Plus, just crank on your LSATs.
