<p>Does anyone know if WI admissions recalculates your GPA using only your Math, English, Social Science and Science and foriegn language? I thought I read that somewhere. That usually brings down some GPAs when you take out some fluff like gym and other easier elective classes. Also, I am not sure how much they look at the weighted average, although I know they like to see honors and AP classes.</p>
<p>Yes, UW-Madison recalculates your grades to determine your unweighted 'academic' GPA. I believe they use A=4.0, A-=3.5, B=3.0, etc. and remove grades for classes like gym and religion.</p>
