Okay, so the ED deadline has passed and things are out of our control, so I thought that it might help ease each other if we saw what we were competing against. I realize that CCers probably aren't truly representative of the total applicant pool, and there's a lot of other stuff besides just academics, but at least this is something, so please just post the college you are applying to and your AI.

Well... the calc is from a book by a Dartmouth admission's officer years ago when there were only 2 SAT sections. The Writing section of the SAT serves as a separate subject test.

Wow, that Academic Index Calculator seems pretty bogus. Even MIT only requires 2 Sat II's. And no Writing score?

How many SAT II's does Cornell require?

I'm pretty sure Cornell only requires two SAT II's, so maybe they count the writting section of the SAT like a third SAT II, since according to a survey from a year or two ago, they count the writting section, but less than the other two sections.

hmm... Cornell Engineering accepeted only about 230 students last year, and we already have 4 people bunched up in terms of academics for the College of Engineering. Jeez... I hope this is representative of the top of the pool because otherwise it's looking like a big crapshoot.

I'm pretty sure it's only the top of the pool, nobody else wants to post because they'll look like crap with 4s and 5s, damn, to be honest mine was 189 but I've got other hooks, Cornell's still a reach though
