haha i'm working on the common app, and i'm pretty nitpicky. for academic interests, is it okay if i put "business" even when the college i'm applying to doesn't necessarily have a business major? for example, like princeton? or should i put economics, which is what i would most likely pursue if i do get accepted there?

Yes.

Just don’t put down “business” as your prospective major when the college you’re applying to doesn’t offer that.

I do not really have a good idea of what I want to be, but I kind of settled on being an engineer. But the common app, and some supplements, ask for a specific career that I would be interested in. For example, when I type in ‘engineer’ it wants me to choose chemical engineer, or materials engineer, or biomedical engineer, etc. Is there a way to avoid making a specific answer to this question?

bump…

Gaoez,

Depends on the specific question you’re answering, but I would just put what you feel most drawn to at this point. No admissions person really expects you to know what you want to do with your life.

Don’t stress about it too much. Put down what you feel best matches your interest for where you are in your life right now.
