Academic Olympiad Tests

I am looking to take the next local tier of the Biology and Chemistry Olympiads- Does anyone have any information on these? I have not really been able tot find out when/where they take place. I found some info/practice tests on-line, but the information about dates and what not is lacking. I am most interested in the Chemistry exam, and from the information I have, I would need to take a local exam in my area, and then if I did well I would move onto national and possibly international. How would I go about finding the local examination?

Any other info on these would be great!

past exams, rules, etc.
what state/region are you in? different regions have different cutoffs for making it to National level.

I’m not from the US, so I don’t know exactly what the process is there. However, it’s usually done like this for chemistry.

1) Have your teacher nominate you for the local exam (it’s done in March, according to the USACO website).

2) Receive a score high enough so that you qualify for the national exam.

3) The top 20 students on the national exam are sent to a training camp. The team for the international competition is chosen through an exam that’s given at the end of the training camp.

4) The top 4 students are sent to the international competition.

The best way to find info about the local exam is to ask your chemistry teacher. If your school is not involved in the local exam, you’ll have to contact your local chemistry society personally.
