So, my story is a long one. I went to my CC and received my BS from them in liberal Studies. I decided I wanted my teaching credential single subject in science. I completed my first semester of it with flying colors from the same school. Second semester I had a family issue and my mother was hurt. I missed more than three classes in one course which is grounds for failure in the program. I did let my professor know, but they would excuse it. I was told I would be removed from all my courses which was devastating. I had to enroll in one course this fall so that in spring I could keep enrollment in my program and repeat my spring semester and receive my credential. After a lot of emotional back and forth with my program instructor I was told I shouldn’t have left my courses, just the one I was absent for. This is not what I was told at a meeting and I have no record via e-mail. I received failing grades for these courses and they tanked my 3.67 GPA that I worked hard to have. I had to file mass amounts of paperwork to petition to retroactively withdraw from my courses and my GPA went back up. However, I was placed on academic probation, even though this was not my fault and I should have been told to withdraw from my courses from
My program director not that they would remove me, which is what she told me would happen. I had to petition once again to have my financial aid reinstated or I would not be able to attend school and pay for it. They accepted it because I was re taking the same classes.
Come end of fall semester 17’ I had to move due to an ill family member on my significant others side. I decided to remove myself from
My program and school and completely withdraw because I would no longer be able to attend. They said ok, and have me paperwork to do so which I filed.
No in a different area in CA and I want to go back to school to get my credential next fall of 17’. However, I need financial aid to be able to do so. I applying to a new program for multiple subject and am wondering…
What are my chances of getting financial aid still and getting accepted? My status isn’t in “good academic standing” Even though my GPA is still well above a 3.0.
Should I go to that school and try and have this status removed as it wasn’t that long ago? Can I even do that without taking more classes and wasting another year?
