academic probation

As I was starting the process of applying to several law schools, I noticed several of them asked if I have ever been dismissed or placed on academic probation. My very first semester at my UG university several years ago, I received one poor grade in a class which resulted in academic probation the following semester. After that, my grades greatly improved. I never really thought about the fact that it might effect me now. I also do not like the way the question reads: "Have you ever been dismissed or placed on academic probation?" since one is obviously more serious than the other.

Has anyone here ever been on AP? If so, how did it affect your chances for admissions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....thanx

Your bad grade or grades that led to academic probation will be included in your transcript (and particularly your LSDAS report from the LSAC) . That it resulted in academic probation really does not add or subtract from any impact the bad grade or grades may have.
