My situation is that I attended a week long college intro thing at my high school and apparently it counted as a college course for w/e reason. Not knowing this I only showed up for the first meeting, got the information I wanted, and didn't go back. This was 2 years before I started at my CC. When I finally got to my CC and discovered it, I had it renewed.

Now applying to UCs how should I be reporting this? Should I just note it in the additional comments section or what? I'd hate to increase my CC time by two years, when I didn't take it there, and then have to explain the gap and such on the app. just to explain the seminar.

Agreed, it’s not a big deal at all, just speak to a counselor about it when you get to your CC. Not only is it not transferable, it shouldn’t even be represented on your transcripts, if I’m understanding you right. Good luck. :)

I thought you were gone @fullload. You made a big dramatic exit after ppl called you out for your rudeness and then a new account instantly (within a day) showed up that sounded just like you. After another callout (and a rude comment from that account) suddenly fullload is back. I suggest if you want to be part of this group, you are polite to ppl, especially young students who are working hard to succeed. CC can easily track if accounts are coming from the same computer, just so you know - and they do it regularly if requested. I don’t respect you but we are all here to be nice and supportive to ppl. Please keep that in mind.

I was asked by a couple people in PM not to leave because of my helpful comments. You are the only person with a beef, as clearly shown here in a thread where I’m being helpful, and yet you attack out of nowhere. Get bent.

And I have NO idea what you’re talking about in regards to another account. This is my ONLY account.

Alright. I’ll just note it in the additional comments section with something like this:
“I took a week long seminar back in high school during X that unbeknownst to me awarded college credit. As such, I had this course academically renewed.”

check with the xfer center at your CC, but my understanding is that all college work of any kind has to be reported under the colleges attended section. For example Cal says

Now that I can get into the application, the course isn’t listed anywhere. So it doesn’t transfer I guess. I have room in the additional comments section, I’ll still note it like I posted before. Better safe than sorry.

Ah, you’re correct. So should I extend my college time by 2 years so the semester is available to list it under? I hadn’t even gone through enrollment or stepped foot on the campus at that time.

Don’t think of it as “extending” your college time. You’re just reporting your academic history, which is required. Unless there’s some rule where you don’t have to report classes taken during high school, which I’ve never heard of. It’s not going to hurt you though, so don’t worry about it. I had three terms of academic renewal, and didn’t complete CC until 5 years after I graduated high school, and none of the UCs cared at all.

Oh, okay. Yeah, I was thinking that they were going to look at more like a timeline and be like what the heck was this guy doing, then I’d have to go into a long explanation to fully clarify, lol. I’ll extend it then and use my additional comment. Thanks a bunch fellows.
