Academic renewal

Does academic renewal affect your decision towards uc schools? I was talking to a counselor at ucr and she told me it doesnt that much as long as you explain it but I have yet to receive an admissions decision yet and Im beginning to think thats why now .

I have academic renewal and I was accepted to Santa Cruz already. And I was likely either waitlisted or accepted to Davis also. I don’t even think I explained it in detail in my statements really.

Are you a transfer? How many classes did you renew off your transcript?

Well, this is the transfer forum, so yes. I think I renewed 6 or 7 classes from a previous CC. I also have at least 10 W’s. No one seems to care thus far.

Don’t know if time passed would matter, but my renewed classes are from 7 years ago.

Ive ARed 2 classes from 2010. Seems like UC Davis doesnt care as much, as they have accepted my TAG agreement. I’ve only applied to Davis, LA, Cal and SD (no reply from SD yet), but so far seems like AR’s isnt what is affecting me (but the W’s are) :[

I only have like 2 W’s on my transcript (soon to be 3 since im dropping calc) but I havent recieved any acceptances or any news from colleges yet at all. Its scaring me.
I AR’d 2 classes from 2010 as well!

It does not affect your admission at all, neither do Ws. I had AR, and 20+ Ws when I applied last year, and I was accepted into all the UCs I applied including UCLA and UCB.

Wow congrats!! Its just freaking me out because its mid april already and I have not recieved any news yet from any UC schools. Id be happy just to get into UCR right now
Im just wondering whats causing the delay for me so many people have already gotten their decisions at least from ucr & ucsc
