Is it true that the academics at Rose are very, very challenging?

Or is it a hype?

Are there any current students who I could talk to about Rose?

It really depends on your work ethic. I’ve seen students come in with 4.2GPAs from high school and then they’ll only have a 2.5-2.7 at Rose. In my case, I only had a 3.71 in high school and still managing (optimistically once grades come out) a 3.25+ GPA.

I’ll also say that “weeding out” does occur…just not intentionally like in many other state schools.

But do you find the classes challenging enough?

I am currently studying mechanical engineering in the uk and finding it easy, maybe because of my high school courses. I wish to transfer to Rose but am not sure if the difficulty would increase there.

It would be great if you could elaborate on the general rigor of the classes there.

I know this is a late reply and all, but I feel that the classes will challenge you very much. I’m a senior, and even the people who have 4.0 GPAs have to study constantly. It doesn’t come easy to anyone.
