Academic Suspension Letter

December 26, 2016

To whom it may concern,
My name is Blank. I am writing this letter with regard to my academic suspension. I would like to be readmitted to Univerisity Of Missouri for the 2017 Spring semester. I am currently on academic suspension because I have failed to maintain an adequate GPA.

I admit that last semester was very difficult for me my grades suffered as a result. I was dealing with depression and did not know how to deal with it. I thought I could handle this myself. I tried to seek out help from the Mizzou Counseling Center, but it was too late they were booked up until around Finals. Even when I was studying I was not able to focus on my schoolwork fully. I am aware that I should have communicated with my professors or a counselor before it got to the point where I was falling. I thought I would be able to handle all of this myself, but I was wrong. Please understand that my poor GPA that led to my suspension was not because I was not applying myself.

If you agree to allow me back into the University Of Missouri, without a doubt I will improve my academic standing. I will meet with a therapist on a regular basis to ensure that everything is running smoothly. I will talk to my teachers when I need assistance and get tutoring when I’m having problems understanding the material. I will also check in with my advisor on a weekly basis.

With this plan going forward I believe I will be able to succeed at The University Of Missouri, so I ask that you please give me a second chance to prove it to you.

Sincerely,

is there a question here

yes what are my chances on getting back in

51.298%

thank you i guess

You’d have a better chance if you called the admissions office I think.

I mean I could but the only way to appeal is by letter

I think there is one missing piece in this letter. You say younwere dealing with depression last term…but you make NO mention of anything you have already begun to do to address this.

Schools like to see.

  1. What you have already done to get some help.
  2. What you will continue to do.
  3. Other things you will do if reinstated.

What was your GPA. How far away were you from meeting SAP?

i have seen a therapist gotten prescribed medical and spoke with my doctor my GPA before was 3.0 this gpa a 1.0
it dropped my cumulative down to 1.9. I needed a 2.0 for SAP

I would suggest that you add something in your letter about how you have already begun being treated for the depression, and that you will be continuing follow up with the doctors.
