I was placed on Academic Suspension almost 6 years ago and have not attended the college ever since. Now that I have a family and work full-time, I decided that I wanted to try and take a course or two. What do I need to do in order to make the suspension go away? Does that ever just go away after a certain amount of time away from school?

I don’t think a community college will care. Where are you considering attending?

^ Agreed, I don’t think they’ll care as long as you haven’t been arrested for a felony or anything like that
It should be pretty easy to get into a community college or something, and if you want, work your way up from there. Just apply and see what happens- or visit the college and ask them what kind of paperwork they need for the admissions process, they might need a transcript/test scores… not really sure. But I’m sure they can clarify for you
Good luck!

I doubt if any 4-year or 2-year college cares about a suspension 6 years ago. Unless you’ve been convicted of felonies since, the colleges would expect that you’ve matured a lot since then.

If you want to return to your original college/university, you need to contact the admissions office. They can advise you on the steps you would need to take to be able to re-enroll there.

If you are interested in enrolling at a different college/university, make an appointment with the transfer admissions office to discuss your options. Don’t forget to take copies of your transcripts with you!
